My Elgrand drove perfect today!!!

I've just done another 6000 miles or so completely trouble free driving. We planned to do quite abit of driving over new years so gave her an oil change and general check over.

Oil was still at the correct level, and although a little dark, was really clean.

Just done a few hundred more miles over the past few days and she hasn't missed a beat.

😁😁😁

I've had my 'White Elgrand E51 Series 2' for over three weeks and it has brought nothing but joy! Huge thanks to @Colin Price for his patience and knowledge during the purchasing process.

I've just used it locally so far but am hoping to get up to Scotland over Easter to visit family and give it a good run out.

There have been many positives so far:

> A Japanese greeting every time I turn the ignition key.

> Two Pokémon keyrings in the glove box!

> Our two children's love of the Elgrand. My son and I spent a whole afternoon checking out all possible seat combinations.

> Finding a zone one DVD in our DVD collection called 'The Lovely Bones' and seeing it actually work inside the Elgrand. Rubbish film but it was so cool to see it play! 😁

> Finding an old collection of mini-discs in our garage from the time when my wife and I first started dating (all of which work in the Elgrand and bring back many memories when we are driving along).

> The smiles on people's faces when they see the Elgrand for the first time plus the conversation that follows.

> The Elgrand community both online and on the road. Two waves from fellow Elgrand drivers (Cyncoed Road and bottom of Power Station Hill) sent the children into hysteria! They are now constantly on the lookout for fellow Elgrand drivers.

> Driving it.

> Washing it.

> Looking at it.

As the title of the thread states...the Elgrand has driven perfectly!

Many thanks to all the members of the forum, it is a fountain of knowledge and one I hope to contribute more to, as time passes.

What stereo did you go for? Any recommendations?

Mines ace... it’s done 18.5k miles for me. Wife drives the kids around everyday and it tours france twice a year... 3 services and a new set of CV Boots is all its needed!
Used to have a Land Rover Defender... spent more time on a garage lift than on the road!
Elgrand all the way!

Our E51 aka the pizzawagon or pizzamobile (only for consumption, not distribution) hasn't skipped a beat over 24,000km. Yesterday it happily lugged our sunday market gazeebo and tables and product to the local farmers market. I always enjoy driving it, nice and relaxing on the open road with some get up and go when you need it.

Felt moved to start my E51 up this morning after six weeks stood by the kerb. Lovely keyless entry, first time start, check the lights in the morning gloom; all working beautifully. So I sat there, in comfort, enjoying the vibe, and turned it off and came back indoors for coffee. Zero miles, so no hassles with traffic; I just really enjoy having this van!

I bought my Elgrand today. I drove it home from Bradford and used it to collect my son from nursery. It was wonderful to drive and BONUS - I discovered loads of random J Pop on the hard drive.

Been sat on trains since 4pm heading home from Lowestoft knowing that the last leg of the journey will be the best, the 45 minute drive home from Carlisle Station in Dumbo. Can't wait, nearly there!

Day 2 of Elgrand ownership and it spontaneously combusted outside the school. Showering the children in molten debris from the cat converters.

.... Only joking, whilst waiting for junior school to kick out, my 5 Yr old and me reclined in the back and watched a Simpson DVD. It was brilliant!

Drove perfectly down to Leeds this morning in a noisy manner, 🤔 could this have been the cause of the Stockton earthquake, (passed there at 6am)....
Drove back perfectly but a little quiter after a visit to Tony Banks Exhausts for a silencer tweak, (no charge) cracking bloke👍😎

Good service. I keep hearing good things about Tony Banks, which can only be good for fellow owners 👍🏼

Nice 210 mile round commute from York to Derby and back for work. Faultless drive and all for the grand sum of £40 in juice. Can't complain, so happy days all in all!! Van needs a bloody good wash again after that though 🤔

Having used about 20 quid of petrol in a few days round town I'm seriously considering a conversion
I came from a car that did 27mpg so it didn't seem too much of a shock but when my husband drove the Elgrand he was really dismayed by how fast the needle moved to empty. He suggested LPG and when we calculated the savings (I'm doing about 14000 miles a year) we would get our money back within a year. It's been great, except when there was no LPG the other day. I called the petrol station the next day and it was back on so I only did 30 miles or so on petrol in the end.
